“I can take any empty space and call it a bare stage. A man walks across this empty space whilst someone else is watching him, and this is all is needed for an act of theatre to be engaged.”
– Peter Brook, The Empty Space: A Book About the Theatre: Deadly, Holy, Rough, Immediate

Back of Hall at 35/37 Dickson St
The Dickson Street Space is independently owned and operated. It’s primary objects are:
1. to run high-quality performing arts and cultural programs, and;
2. to support artists and cultural workers to perform, exhibit or develop work in a way that encourages the growth of future programs.
The Dickson Street Space acknowledges that space is imperative to the artistic process and increasingly difficult to come by. To this end, any person or organisation engaged in the practice or facilitation of arts or cultural programs are invited to make use of the Dickson Street Space to explore any and all stages of their creative journeys, ideally with an open door to the community-at-large.
